This is the first published work by Nancy Berntsen Cottrill. It represents a grand love of both stories and Snickerdoodles. She was raised just outside Washington, D.C. and graduated from George Mason University with her B.A. in American Studies. Along with her Senator (not a real one, a husband one) she lives with their youngest (an adult) son Jack, their in-house professional photographer. They share their suburban Corryton, TN homestead with two dogs, three cats, seven chickens and Bridget, the chicken who thinks it’s a dog. They have three additional adult children roaming the Earth: Sam, Bradley, and Brittany.
Having sold approximately 6,839,257 (perhaps exaggerated) cookies helping to pay for their children’s youthful athletic endeavors, she felt it was time to share the recipes. The tall tale of biscuit eating, talking, forest friends was spun over years, and finally written down. A firm believer in magic, adventure, cocktails with tiny umbrellas, and the power of pie, she is content sitting on their pool deck with a bunch of pirates, watching the Tennessee Vols play just about anything, and her beloved Redskins play football.
This is his first ever notoriety as a part of any written work for Samuel Craig Horsley. He lives in Chattanooga, TN with his beautiful and supportive wife Abby Rose, their dog Penny and twin cats, Viggo and Sable, who can hardly tolerate the dog.
His love of stories has helped him find passion in Dungeons and Dragons and Marvel comics. The Lord of the Rings, however, is the saga he is most fond of. Samuel is currently working on his own novel, inspired by both his mother, who would never make it in a post-apocalyptic world, and his father Craig, who could dominate any undead corporeal revenant. It’s about surviving zombies in an alternate world, which really isn’t as much a stretch from his real life as one might think.
He’s quite fond of a few other things as well: soccer, steak, and an occasional dip in the ocean. Samuel grew up on the recipes in this book and lived life with the characters you’ve now gotten to know. If he’s with friends and family, talking about old times and planning the new adventures, it’s always a story worth remembering.
